Miss Harmon’s Bio

RecitalHello! My name is Annelies Harmon. I have the privilege of teaching 1st-4th general music, elementary choir, 5th-6th grade chimes, silver bells (Junior High), gold bells (High School), and 1st-6th grade Spanish.

I grew up in the beautiful country of the Netherlands as an MK (missionary kid). I value the years I spent in the Netherlands. It was there that I began my relationship with God at the age of 5. I realized that I had disobeyed and thus sinned against a holy God. I also realized that He loved me so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life and take my punishment on Himself.  In simple faith, I accepted his sacrifice for my sins and trusted Him alone as my Savior.

Studying at Fourth Baptist Christian School led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Maranatha Baptist University.   Life has truly come full circle since the Lord allowed me to teach in the very same rooms I sat in as a student. I recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a Masters Degree in Music Education with a Kodaly emphasis. It is an exciting opportunity to be a life long learner!

When I am not teaching my favorite FBCS students music and Spanish, you will find me cooking, working on house and garden projects, getting lost in a story, working on a puzzle, enjoying tea/hot chocolate, embroidering, or spending time with my family and friends in the Twin Cities and Iowa.
